Fresh Produce and Great Tunes on Tap Every Week at Si View Park

Looking for a place to get fresh produce and great tunes?

The North Bend Farmers Market and Summer Concert series begins June 17, and runs every Thursday through Aug. 26. The events are organized and hosted by the Si View Metropolitan Parks District.

Over the winter, Si View Park underwent a face lift. The parks district added a paved parking lot with 71 stalls, sidewalks, outdoor benches, water fountains and new lighting.

The market and concert stage will be located in the new parking lot and surrounding grass fields.

More than a dozen vendors will be offering locally grown produce, often picked the same day.

“You can taste the difference,” said Minna Rudd, the parks district’s communications director.
Reusable shopping bags will be on sale for $2 throughout the season.

Shopping at the market also gives consumers the opportunity to ask farmers questions about how the produce was grown, Rudd said.

The market and concert series aren’t just events for the community; they’re events organized by the community.

The parks district depends on a small army of volunteers to put on the two series.

“It takes many hands to set up and take down for these weekly events, greeting customers, conduct customer surveys, provide vendor support and more,” Rudd said.
